President’s Welcome

Welcome to Campus Compact, the only national organization dedicated to helping colleges and universities educate the next generation of responsible leaders. Each year our 1,000+ member campuses connect millions of college students with their communities through service initiatives, service-learning courses, and other forms of civic engagement. Campus Compact provides the training, resources, advocacy, and leadership to help them do it effectively.

I encourage you to browse our website to get a feel for the many valuable resources we offer. In addition to tools designed specifically for college and university presidents, faculty members, community service/service-learning staff, and students, our website provides a host of information on relevant higher education policy, events, awards, news, and more.

If you are interested in learning what higher education is doing to strengthen our communities and our society, this is the place to look. You can view the results from our latest annual member survey, which reveal that students at Campus Compact member schools contribute more than $7 billion in service each year through campus-organized events alone. Browse our program models for examples of how campuses are connecting with their local and global communities. Search our database of service-learning syllabi to see how classes combine real-world learning for students with programs that have an impact on youth services, health care, the environment, and other areas.

Of course, if you are part of a campus that has not yet become a member, I hope you will explore the benefits of membership.

Over the past 20 years, Campus Compact has grown from a small group of committed presidents to a vital coalition that extends across the United States and internationally. We are grateful to our members for their support, and look forward to serving them in the decades to come.

Sincerely,

Maureen F. Curley
