Specific responsibilities include:

• the development, supervision and management of the Service Learning Center; the supervision of community partnerships and placements;
• the supervision of student, graduate student and professional staff;
• the leadership and direction in policy development and annual goals and objectives;
• the assessment of programs, services, and outcomes; the collaboration with faculty in the development and evaluation of curricular service-learning;
• the development and management of operational and grant funding;
• the collaboration on research related to civic engagement, service learning, and student development;
• helping to educate the university community about service-learning concepts and methodology;
• the leadership in developing and maintaining an environment that is consistent with the spirit and intent of the university mission statement.

The position will:

• research, develop and/or supervise community service-learning programs to address real and identified community needs;
• supervise, train and evaluate student service-learning leaders and work study staff;
• collaborate on program development and implementation with university department, faculty and community partners;
• assist with the coordination of special events and programs which may include Alternative Spring Break and/or on-campus service-retreats.

Responsibilities include:

• managing and promoting the Leadership and Service Opportunities Program, Leadership Library and the Distinguished Speaker Series;
• teaching leadership workshops, contacting regional agencies to solicit volunteer opportunities for our students;
• connecting students with volunteer opportunities;
• assisting Career Services with the organization of the annual Volunteer Fair;
• organizing campus wide volunteer programs;
• organizing workshop/seminar schedule (10-12 per year),
• advising volunteer student organizations;
• preparing press releases for notable information;
• monitoring budget for LSOP program,
• seeking grants related to the program,
• assessing and evaluating all components LSOP,
• coordinating and supervising production of the Leadership Transcripts,
• assisting with the development and maintenance of new Horizons program for freshmen;
• assisting with development of annual Distinguished Speaker Series (series of nationally known speakers who lecture at UNCP) other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Student Activities.

Duties include:

• provide assistance to the Director, Associate Director, and faculty with planning and organizing program development workshops, seminars, grant applications, etc.;
• assist in working with nonprofit community agencies to negotiate volunteer placement for CSULB students;
• design flyers, prepares payment schedules and forms;
• adapt assessment forms from assessment templates and then computes the assessment results;
• assist with the Center’s budget, maintain ledgers, monitor balances, and evaluate and process routine expenditures;
• provide administrative support through scheduling and providing workshops and events for faculty and staff.
• distribute and produce correspondence and flyers as well as the oversee the development, updating, and maintenance of the Center’s records, files, and accounts.

Oversee the CSU Service-Learning Curriculum Development and Infrastructure Initiative and CSU Learn and Serve Grant Program. Current initiatives include the development of eleven new service-learning courses, the service-learning faculty fellows program, and service-learning workshops and professional development for faculty.

Day to day coordination of the following components of the Center: intensive and on-going community service opportunities, programs and activities, CCBSL web site, a clearinghouse of course curriculum, resource library, and a database of community partners.

The Coordinator manages requests for funding to public institutions and private organizations to fund service-learning initiatives on campus; assists with short and long-term strategic planning for the Center and its facilities; oversees the selection and supervision of professional and student staff.

Key responsibilities of the Service-Learning Coordinator for the center are the:

• assistance for faculty and staff incorporating service-learning opportunities into new and existing courses;
• the coordination of evaluation efforts for service-learning courses;
• the assistance in the development and maintenance of successful collaborations between local community and governmental organizations and CCLC to support the expansion of service-learning courses while meeting community needs;
• ability to work closely with other service-learning staff, including the Coordinator of Service-Learning and Community Involvement, the Student Programs Coordinators, AmeriCorps*VISTA member, and several part-time student staff member; the collaboration with other CCLC coordinators in providing overall CCLC programming.

The Bonner Scholars Program Coordinator will work with the Bonner Scholars Director on all aspects of the Bonner Scholars Program to create an integrated four-year developmental learning through service experience for 60 Berea College Bonner Scholars.

Specific responsibilities include the:

• assistance with recruitment and selection of incoming Bonner Scholars;
• coordination of the freshman Bonner Scholars common labor assignment in an after-school mentoring program for middle-school students, including orientation and on-site supervision;
• provision of on-going training and reflection opportunities; development publicity including brochures, newsletters, and video;
• assistance with the creation of community service labor positions;
• oversight of the Community Learning Agreement process;
• coordination of the summer service placements.

Specific duties include:

• the recruitment of students at both Drury High School and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts to join the Student Diversity Team;
• the creation a welcoming inclusive environment in the office area assigned to the project; the collaboration with other groups on all projects and activities as appropriate;
• service on the College Diversity Committee and Program Advisory Group; researching of appropriate consultants, programs, conferences and educational supplies and recommendations of purchases and contracts as needed;
• leadership of programs and other educational experiences; the integration of activities with service as appropriate.

The Assistant Director:

• serves as a liaison to campus organizations, academic and administrative departments, community organizations and the Foggy Bottom community;
• develops annual program of events and projects for the University community related to service learning, including coordination with programs of other campus departments, student organizations and community organizations;
• designs and implements special education and training programs for the University community, with focus on fulfilling mission of service at the University and fostering a sense of community for the campus;
• advises student organizations involved in community service activities;
• is responsible for application, oversight, management, compliance, and reporting of federal grants and corporate contracts;
• is responsible for writing grant proposals to raise $200,000 annually;
• recruits, trains, and places students involved in community service activities at off site agencies;
• oversees daily operation of Office of Community Service;
• oversees training, support, development and management of office volunteers and student and non-student staff working to enhance University’s community service outreach efforts in the metropolitan area.

The Associate Director of Service-Learning reports to the Director of Leadership and Service-Learning and has primary responsibilities for all service-learning programming at UNCG.

The Associate Director is responsible for developing and extending service-learning opportunities at UNCG and will work to design processes and infrastructure for the new service-learning initiative at UNCG.

The Associate Director’s responsibilities include: providing overall administrative support for the service-learning program through integration of community service opportunities with the academic program, working with faculty on community placements, and coordinating training for faculty on service-learning pedagogical methods.

The Office works to:

• provide students with the unique option to enhance their education and work experience beyond the traditional classroom;
• challenge individuals and groups to become active in service related projects within the local community;
• strengthen the bond between the University, the local community and other colleges and universities;
• to encourage students, faculty, and staff to increase their awareness related to community service; and
• link the USC campus with the national service initiative.

Specific responsibilities include:

• the placement of students, faculty and staff in community service programs;
• the promotion the Office of Community Service Programs through presentations, publications, outreach and awareness;
• advising community service related organizations;
• developing external sources of funding, research and write grants; managing administrative functions and budgets.

Coordination includes workshops, presentations, courses, retreat and serving as a clearinghouse on community service. The Director also serves as a resource to others, including staff in the Sun Devil Involvement Center (SDIC), on community service.

The Director:

• implements and evaluates community service events for/with students; encourages local, regional and national service affiliation;
• develops and maintains working relationships with non-profit agencies and serve as liaison with campus departments and organizations;
• consults with faculty interested in providing or creating service learning course components;
• designs and implements related curriculum such as Leadership internship in Service and serve a member of the Leadership Development Team;
• collaborates with other SDIC staff to promote positive engagement at ASU;
• participates collaboratively in SDIC management with budget preparation, and oversight, supervision of support staff, undergraduate and graduate student employees;
• develops publications, monitors web pages and evaluates unit’s goals and recommendations;
• supports affirmative action and equal opportunity policies and procedures for the University.

• supporting faculty to integrate community-based learning into the curriculum;
• facilitating partnerships between the community and the university as they relate to community-based learning; assisting faculty scholarship in community engagement; and
• identifying and seeking public and private sources of funding to support community-based learning; fostering communication with each school/college on campus as it relates to community-based learning.

The Director is further expected to maintain and enhance national visibility around PSU and community-based learning activities as well as provide leadership for PSU’s regional and national partnership initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include:

• directing the internship program (fall, spring, and summer), including full and part-time academic internships, both domestic and international;
• managing the budget and develop revenue producing initiatives such as off-campus, out of state, online and international opportunities for internships;
• conducting evaluations of experiential learning opportunities and sharing these data with the university community;
• interviewing, screening and placing student applicants in internship opportunities; teaching seminars required of full-time interns;
• maintaining a body of current resources on experiential learning, making them available to the university community;
• planning campus events to inform and highlight the salience of experiential learning;
• organizing workshops for faculty on incorporating experiential learning into courses and on providing appropriate opportunities for internships in all majors;
• implementing information workshops on experiential learning to URI 101 classes;
• providing assistance in planning and executing site visits with individual faculty to assure ongoing monitoring of student interns;
• supervising the maintenance of a database of student internship experiences and conducting follow-up studies to assess the outcomes of such involvement; preparing grant applications.

The Assistant Director will have primary responsibility for advising Volunteer GVSU, a student-led community service organization, and it’s fourteen committees.

Specific responsibilities include:

• advising Volunteer GVSU and it’s fourteen affiliated organizations, including Alternative Spring Break, Best Buddies, Disabilities, Environment, Habitat for Humanity, Health and AIDS, Hunger & Homelessness, International Relief, Literacy, PALS, Volunteer Corps, Seniors, PEERS, and Youth;
• coordinating major community service programs such as Make a Difference, Day and Intro the Streets, and others; serving as a liaison with local community and non-profit organizations;
• assisting with campus-wide service learning efforts and grant writing; monitoring budgets for programs in respective areas; Coordinating leadership training and programming efforts;
• assisting with Summer and Fall Orientation Programs and Student Visitation Days; assisting student organizations with event planning (including Field house events);
• coordinating campus programs with other areas including cultural programs, Greek life, Housing, and Athletics;
• participating in the Campus Life Council for advisors and student leaders in coordinating campus life events; assisting in the development of a comprehensive campus life program with a focus on weekends;
• supervising two graduate assistants in the College Student Affairs Leadership Program (M.Ed.)

The coordinator serves as the primary advocate and communications source for service learning and other community-based learning programs to the campus community as well as to the surrounding community.

This position:

• facilitates ongoing support and leadership direction of the service learning task force which provides insight and direction in the implementation of the comprehensive campus service learning program;
• develops and manages community-based learning databases; oversees the budget;
• develops and maintains policies and procedures relevant to service and service learning programs; and
• prepares written reports relating to grant administration.

Under the general supervision of the Director of the Service Learning Institute (SLI), the Coordinator of Community Partnerships is responsible for assisting service learning faculty, SLI staff and community partner organizations in developing and maintaining mutually beneficial service learning partnerships.

The Coordinator of Community Partnerships develops curriculum and training on community partnerships and provides support to facilitate the growth of strong, reciprocal and inclusive service learning partnerships.

The director:

• advances relationships between the university and community by facilitating development of the curriculum (via community-based learning courses, capstone courses, and other relevant curricular experiences);
• brokers requests between the community and the university as they relate to curriculum-based partnerships;
• supports faculty scholarship in community engagement;
• identifies and seeks public and private sources of funding to support community-based learning; fosters communication between the Center for Academic Excellence and each school/college on campus as it relates to community-based learning;
• maintains and further enhances national visibility around PSU and community-based activities.
