Indicators of Engagement Project
Meeting in DC
On October 9, 2002 Campus Compact, with generous support from Atlantic Philanthropies, convened a community college meeting in DC. Held at the Council of Independent Colleges on Dupont Circle, this meeting brought together key community college faculty and administrators, as well as program officers from private and government organizations dedicated to civic engagement and higher , to discuss the place of community colleges in the framework of the civic purposes of higher education. Participants discussed the state of community colleges and where are they headed, the current cutting edge work in service-learning and civic engagement at community colleges, and what services and resources the Compact can provide to support and further this work.
