Colorado Campus Compact (CCC) is seeking an AmeriCorps*VISTA Team Leader to manage and support 15 full-time VISTA placements at higher educational institutions throughout Colorado. The VISTA Leader will serve in the CCC office at Regis University in Denver, CO. Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents—representing some six million students—who are dedicated to fulfilling the civic purposes of higher education.

Access Colorado, one of the two programs subsumed under CCC, is dedicated to increasing school retention rates and student access to post-secondary education by setting up and supporting civic engagement and service-learning initiatives, creating linkages between institutions of higher education, local school districts, nonprofit institutions, and business.  Access Colorado currently has 20 VISTAs serving at different educational host institutions on the Front Range.  The team leader would be responsible for supporting this innovative team.

Responsibilities:

1. Support all aspects of the Access Colorado’s statewide program management:
   • Serve as a liaison between VISTA members and CCC staff
   • Collaboratively develop and implement comprehensive training and reflection programs for VISTA members, including coordinating logistics for pre-service orientation and in service trainings
2. Create a support network among CCC VISTA members:
   • Promote information sharing and resource building among AmeriCorps*VISTA members and projects
   • Provide VISTA members with up-to-date resources, training, and networking information
3. Assist in managing the CCC VISTA recruitment process:
   • Support CCC*VISTA supervisors with local and regional recruitment
   • Use eGrants online recruitment system and provide technical assistance to candidates and supervisors
   • Track applicants and maintain communication with host sites
   • Collaborate with VISTA Leaders from other Campus Compact states on national recruitment strategies
4. Gather, organize, and analyze data for program sites:
   • Ensure that VISTA members complete monthly reporting and federal grant deliverables on a timely basis
   • Synthesize member progress reports for quarterly reports to federal funding agent

Required Qualifications

• One year of experience as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to take initiative and work independently on projects
• Ease of use in Microsoft software suite, email, and Internet and ability to learn new software applications
• Able to work with teams & collaborate with VISTA Project Manager and other CCC staff
• Ability to understand federal grant guidelines and communicate that clearly to our partners and VISTA members
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of civic engagement and service-learning initiative
• Experience in working with community partners, relationship-building, and networking

Organizational Relationships

The CCC VISTA leader will:

• Report to the VISTA program manager
• Collaborate with CCC staff and National Campus Compact VISTA Leaders
