Apply Yourself Initiative Coordinator at Eastern Maine Community College

Come to Maine and experience the natural beauty and exciting outdoor opportunities provided by its distinct four seasons! Maine Campus Compact (MCC) is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities whose purpose is to further the public purposes and civic mission of higher education. MCC’s team of 8 VISTAs will all develop or coordinate programming that mobilizes college students to increase college aspirations in Maine’s K-12 youth.

Working in the Admissions Office at Eastern Maine Community College, the VISTA will be supported by a very capable team. Continuing in the 2nd year of the Apply Yourself Initiative, the VISTA will create EMCC’s Ambassador Club of Eagles to work with the Apply Yourself Initiative. The Initiative is designed to educate rural high school students in four counties on the steps necessary to go to college—including college applications and financial aid applications—and assisting those students with the steps. The Initiative also provides placement testing and tutoring in order to academically prepare the students for college.
