Connecticut Campus Compact VISTA Leaders

CTCC has two (2) Leader positions! Learn more about each positions at: http://blog.fairfield.edu/campuscompact/?page_id=664.

This is a VISTA Leader position and requires one year of prior experience serving as a VISTA member. Connecticut Campus Compact is a statewide consortium of higher education institutions joined together to advance the public purposes of colleges and universities, to help students become engaged leaders in their communities and to strengthen communities. CTCC VISTA members mobilize college service-learners and volunteers to serve poverty-affected students and community members, develop and sustain campus/community partnerships to serve poverty-affected students and community members and develop college service-learning courses addressing poverty related issues. The CTCC VISTA Leader will assist VISTA members in developing authentic, reciprocal, meaningful and effective relationships between community partners and institutions of higher education. With nearly 14 sites statewide, the CTCC AmeriCorps VISTA program provides exciting opportunities for individuals interested in taking leadership in a progressive field. The VISTA Leader will make a statewide impact as they recruit, support and train VISTAs throughout their experience and help them to fight poverty in their host communities.

Higher education's role in preparing citizens and leaders for our communities, this nation, and a global society has never been more important than it is today. The focus of Utah Campus Compact is to facilitate civic engagement by our students.... The results of that effort are evident in the learning experiences that Utah faculty are designing."
