Illinois Campus Compact is a coalition of 43 member campuses that actively engage students, faculty and staff as active members of its community. Our organization collaborates with campuses to plan, implement, evaluate and promote service-learning and civic engagement endeavors. The ILCC VISTA Leader will support and coordinate 17 VISTAs as they help member campuses improve services for student veterans and military families, first-generation college students and youth from low-income backgrounds. The VISTA Leader has office space in downtown Chicago at DePaul University. The position provides a living allowance, Chicago Transit Authority pass, and a choice of $5,550 education award or $3,000 cash stipend. Applicants must have previous experience as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member.
Member Duties: Promote communication, networking, information sharing, and resource building; Coordinate ILCC VISTA training events; Evaluate and promote member performance and the overall VISTA program; Develop and maintain resources regarding VISTAs’ community partnerships and impact; Recruit, screen, interview, select, and place VISTA candidates.
