The Education Partnerships Corps (EPC) will develop, build, support, and deepen campus- community partnerships for education that directly impact the preparation, pursuit and year-to-year persistence of economically disadvantaged children, youth and adults. Corps members will work toward strengthening campus-community partnerships for education that focus on: Partnership Focus 1: School readiness (teaching, tutoring, and the provision of education readiness support services to children and families) Partnership Focus 2: School success (teaching, tutoring, mentoring of students, expanded learning or out of school time programs and other school improvement support) Partnership Focus 3: College access and success (programs that help students prepare for college and careers including, college counseling, tutoring, enrollment support, retention activities for first-generation and low-income students)
Member Duties: While specific member assignments may vary per site, activities could include: Recruit, train and coordinate college students to volunteer in K-12 settings during the summer or the school year Collaborate with different departments on campus to strengthen and streamline resources aimed at retaining college students Tutor/mentor K-12 students over the summer Provide on-campus and/or community based educational opportunities for K-12 students and/or first-generation or ELL college students Provide campus visits for K-12 students and/or first-generation and low-income students Collaborate on programs that prevent summer learning loss for K-12 students and adults
