POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: MCC AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader
Supervisor: MCC AmeriCorps*VISTA Program Manager
Purpose:
Michigan Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA members act as transformative agents between higher education institutions and their surrounding communities. AmeriCorps*VISTA members create service opportunities and engage students in the community, in order to gain a richer and more valuable experience outside the classroom.
Position Responsibilities:
• Work with host sites and program manager to recruit, screen, select and place VISTA candidates at up to 22 other MCC AmeriCorps*VISTA host sites.
• Plan and implement MCC*VISTA member trainings (3) and member recognition opportunities
• Promote communication, networking, information sharing and resource building
• Evaluate and promote member performance and the overall VISTA program
• Connect with Campus Compact *VISTA programs nation-wide
• Be a support for the other MCC AmeriCorps*VISTA members
• Play an active role on the MCC staff team
Requirements:
• College Degree
• Completed one year of an AmeriCorps* VISTA position
• Strong interest /experience in college service programs
• Proven leadership ability, public speaking and event planning
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
