Minnesota Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader-College Health Corps

Minnesota Campus Compact’s College Health Corps VISTA Leader will support the work of ten VISTAs at various campus and community sites throughout Minnesota working to create greater healthcare access and health literacy for primarily low‐income and underserved populations.
Duties include:
  • Provide technical assistance and resources to the VISTA members about healthcare, VISTA, and leveraging campus resources
  • Manage and create electronic media, including bi‐weekly newsletter, blog, facebook page, and etc.
  • Communicate with VISTAs regularly to determine their progress and provide support as needed
  • Facilitate VISTA reflection
  • Develop and organize training events, team building activities, and monthly communication
  • Conduct site visits
  • Manage logistical concerns for VISTAs, such as reviewing quarterly progress reports, MNCC training reimbursements, etc.
  • Assist with the recruitment, selection, and early service training of CHC VISTAs
  • Provide general support for the Minnesota Campus Compact
  • Coordinate opportunities for cross stream collaboration with other VISTA and AmeriCorps programs in the state through participation in the InterCorps Council of Minnesota (ICC) and through work with the Minnesota CNCS office
Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong interest and experience in campus‐community partnerships and community
    health preferred
  • Able to start service June 21, 2011 (this date may be flexible under special circumstances)
