National AmeriCorps VISTA Leader

The objective of the National Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA Leader is to support the Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA network across the country through communication, collaboration, resource sharing, community building, and story telling. The National Leader will work closely with staff at both the national Campus Compact and Massachusetts Campus Compact.

Key Goals-
1. Build capacity of Campus Compact to share stories of the collective impact of our VISTA programs through qualitative and quantitative data.
a. Develop and organize a process for collecting common measures of success across the Campus Compact VISTA network in collaboration with MACC.
b. Connect VISTA program supervisors, VISTA Leaders, Campus Compact VISTA Alumni networks.

Position Responsibilities-

Collective Impact Data:
• Work with the Campus Compact network to identify and develop a small advisory group for collecting common measures project.
• Work with MACC staff, national, staff and advisory group to: develop a process for collecting, sorting and analyzing reporting across the network; collect data; assess data; ensure network buy-in.
• Undertake a thorough review of collection tools, measurements and processes across the network.
• Develop and disseminate related deliverables (i.e. impact reports, etc.)
• Develop reports and newsletters to share updates with the network about the work the VISTA Leader is doing with their travels and the Advisory Group.

VISTA Program Support:
• Support a peer-to-peer network of VISTA program supervisors and VISTA leaders to share resources, best practices and advice through conference calls and social media.
• Explore and develop opportunities for professional development for VISTA Leaders and program supervisors (such as convening VISTA Leaders and program supervisors at regional Campus Compact conferences).
• Continue to build capacity of VISTA network by supporting a shared identity and purpose through the VISTA blog; write posts, recruit Compact VISTAs and Alumni to contribute.

Qualifications
• Experience with Campus Compact VISTA programs.
• At least one year of experience as an AmeriCorps VISTA or an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader.
• Experience with assessment, research and/or data analysis.
• Willingness to travel out of state.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Asset-based approach to change.
• Experience coordinating working groups with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organization, interpersonal, project and multi-task management, public speaking, and event planning skills.
• Willingness to be creative self-starter on projects and ideas.
• Sense of humor
• College Degree- B.A. or B.S., Master’s preferred

AmeriCorps VISTA Benefits
• Annual living allowance of $15,948 (monthly stipend of $1,329).
• Post service educational award of $5500 or one-time cash stipend of $3000.
• Health coverage and child care.
• Relocation allowance and travel to VISTA Leader training.
• Non-competitive eligibility for federal employment following the year of full-time service.
