NC Campus Compact is looking for a dynamic VISTA Leader to support 20 AmeriCorps VISTAs serving with colleges and non-profits across North Carolina and Virginia.
The VISTA Leader will work with our Program Coordinator to:
- enhance member communication through social media and other tools
- create online trainings and resources
- coordinate member recruitment and selection
- engage VISTA program alumni
- share VISTA stories in press releases and blog posts
- carry out day-to-day operations to ensure VISTA success!
*ONE YEAR PREVIOUS VISTA EXPERIENCE & BACHELOR’S DEGREE REQUIRED*
Our VISTA projects build partnerships with local K-12 schools, improve food security through community gardening and campus kitchens, or help neighborhoods and individuals struggling with housing. Learn about grant monitoring, interviewing candidates, program management and evaluation, and current trends in higher education community engagement. As a key member of our team, take part in events with students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
The VISTA Leader serves at NC Campus Compact’s office in Elon, NC, on the campus of Elon University. Elon is located in the heart of the state, in between the Research Triangle and the Triad. We are an easy drive to the NC mountains or to the coast.
NC Campus Compact is a growing coalition of 45 public, independent and community colleges and universities. Presidents and chancellors commit their institutions to being “engaged campuses” that enhance a student’s sense of responsibility, citizenship, leadership and awareness of community, and impact the community by partnering with local organizations to address real needs.
