Project SHINE Health Literacy Program, Philadelphia PA

Project SHINE (www.projectshine.org) is national service learning organization located at Temple University Intergenerational Center. SHINE creates intergenerational relationships with elderly immigrants and refugees through tutoring English, health literacy, and citizenship. SHINE is now accepting applications for our AmeriCorps Health Literacy Program. These part-time AmeriCorps members will serve 8–10 hours a week for 9 months, starting the week of January 17. Training will be January 16–17. This is a wonderful opportunity to be engaged with another culture right here in Philadelphia. We are looking for those who are bilingual, bi cultural, studying health, retired health professional, and/or looking for a challenging volunteer experience. Members will receive a stipend and end of term education award. Please see application steps below.
