With South Carolina Campus Compact, the VISTA Leader is responsible for supervising and managing 17 VISTA members on college campuses across the state. The SCCC VISTA Leader will coordinate communications, training, research and best practice dissemination, and statewide programming. While working with the Executive Director of SCCC, the VISTA Leader duties will include: Assist with planning and conducting on-site orientation, regional and group trainings for members; Engage VISTAs, as appropriate, in statewide events, which feature and promote service and volunteerism in South Carolina, such as the Martin Luther King Day of Service; Assisting with writing grants for the support of the program; Supervising VISTA members by responding to VISTA requests for resources and assistance; Manage reporting process to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS); Assist with recruitment and screening of AmeriCorps*VISTA Member candidates. The VISTA leader position requires one year of service with AmeriCorps or the Peace Corps, bachelor’s degree, and reliable transportation. The SCCC VISTA leader position is located at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Rock Hill is perfectly situated near the beach and the mountains, and is near Charlotte, NC.
