Utah Campus Compact is currently recruiting for 1 full-time VISTA volunteer needed to assist Southern Utah University Community Engagement Center in supporting/promoting Center initiatives, developing sustainable partnerships with community organizations, and capacity building. The VISTAs (Volunteers In Service To America) in this project will act as community partnership coordinator on Southern Utah University campus in Cedar City. The VISTA also will encourage college students to be civically-engaged citizens by expanding service-learning and co-curricular service programs.

Get involved as a UCC VISTA and…
• Recruit mentors for at risk youth.
• Recruit student volunteers for community non-profit organizations.
• Engage faculty to integrate Service-Learning and civic engagement into college courses.
• Develop new campus-community partnerships and engage current partnerships in sustainable partnership practices.
• Engage students to address poverty issues such as hunger, literacy, environmental impact, healthcare, the technological divide, homelessness, etc.
• Develop a publicity plan and media kit, coordinating online presence of service centers.
• Advance fundraising, and organizational development initiatives.

Position qualifications
College degree; strong interest and experience in college service programs; experience working with students and diverse groups of people; leadership ability; public speaking skills; strong writing and organizational skills; ability to drive; ability to make a full-year commitment.
