The “BG Scholarship” was created in memory of Brandon Goodman, a young man who passed away in 2003 while surfing in Hawaii. The scholarship is available to high school students and students currently enrolled in college. Applicants are required to have a minimum 2.0 GPA, be a U.S. citizen or an international students that is enrolled in school in the USA. Membership is not required to be eligible for this award. Students must also submit an essay about their academic goals and contributions to their school and/or community.

There are 12 annual awards with one $400 scholarship awarded each month to a new recipient. The application deadline is last day of every month.
