The Earth Island Institute Brower Youth Award recognizes young people for their outstanding activism and achievements in the fields of environmental and social justice advocacy. Maximum award: $3,000, a trip to California for the awards ceremony, and a wilderness camping trip. Eligibility: youth ages 13-22.
I learned to expect more from higher education. Higher education institutions need to prepare young people to become active citizens, not just successful professionals.
