As an education and service advocate, Michigan Campus Compact would like to extend an invitation for you to submit a proposal to present at the 14th Annual Institute: Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Conference.  We are seeking workshop proposals from K-12, higher education, community-based organizations and nonprofit practitioners of service, service-learning and civic engagement. We hope you will consider sharing your knowledge with your peers across the Midwest.

Each year, Michigan Campus Compact and the Michigan Community Service Commission host this 2-day conference in February. This year, we will be at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme (Traverse City), Michigan, February 9-10, 2010.  More information is available online at www.micampuscompact.org/institute.asp.

Please also share this opportunity with your colleagues.  We are hoping to highlight individuals from multiple disciplines and institutions. If you have questions about presenting at this year’s conference, please contact Ashley Gulker at agulker {at} micampuscompact(.)org or 517.492.4255.

As always, we are such fans of Campus Compact (both national and state chapters). Without your assistance, we could not have achieved many of the milestones we have enjoyed over the past two years. Among many other developments, these milestones include hiring a full-time Service-Learning Coordinator; forming a University-wide advisory committee that includes representatives from each school and from the community; and creating a course development series for faculty and their community partners."
