The 2011 ITGA University-City Relations Conference: Partnerships in Action – co-hosted by the University of Colorado at Boulder and the City of Boulder will be an interactive and solution-oriented conference. In that vein we are seeking proposals that illustrate solutions or innovations for creating vibrant and sustainable campus communities via university-community partnerships.
Our goal is to create a conference learning experience in which we generate new knowledge by challenging each other’s assumptions, broadening our perspectives, and creating shared tools for transforming ideas into action. We also want a conference experience that is fun and creative. With that in mind, the committee is particularly interested in non-traditional proposals that engage participants as knowledge makers, creating on-site learning laboratories in which, “the answers are in the room”, participants frame the questions and share successes and failures/lessons learned.
The conference will provide three primary tracks, each focused around one of the three areas of sustainability: economic, environmental and social. Plenary sessions will highlight the interplay between these three areas and
the power and promise of town-gown collaboration in creating thriving/vibrant and sustainable communities.
