The College Success grant program, an initiative of the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation (Great Lakes), is open to colleges and community-based organizations in Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Grants are intended to support programs that provide direct services to increase semester-to-semester retention and year-to-year persistence rates for undergraduate students from traditionally underserved backgrounds who are enrolled in two-year and four-year colleges and universities, including community and technical colleges. For the purposes of this grant, “students from traditionally underserved backgrounds” include students from low-income households, students of color, and first-generation college students. Grants ranging from $50,000 to $300,000 are available for programs that will serve students during the 2013-2014 academic year.
