The Global Studies Program at Providence College seeks applications for a full-time one-year faculty adjunct position starting Fall 2012. Evidence of excellence in teaching, along with familiarity and experience with engaged pedagogy and service learning are essential. We encourage applications from motivated masters degree holders, although PhDs in a discipline or interdisciplinary field related to global studies will be given preference. The successful candidate will teach courses in the Global Studies Program focused on global activism, global social justice, border crossing for returning students from abroad, and an introductory course focused on global citizenship. The faculty adjunct is expected to teach four courses per semester.
Applicants must apply on-line and submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript(s), a statement of teaching philosophy, and the names and e-mail addresses of three references who can provide letters of recommendation. Application details on this position are available on the College web site at: https://careers.providence.edu/
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Providence College is a Roman Catholic four-year liberal arts institution conducted under the auspices of the Dominican Friars and seeks candidates who can affirm and contribute to its mission.
