The Office of Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) seeks an Associate Director to advance the mission of the CCE by working with faculty, staff, students,community partners, and the Butler Center for Volunteer Service and Leadership Development to create opportunities for learning and academically grounded action around civic and community issues in Greater Miami. The Associate Director helps faculty develop experiential learning courses; identifies opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate with community organizations; designs innovative, educational programs; coordinates with constituencies to bolster efforts to address community-identified needs; oversees process of assessment; and manages the day to day operations of the Office. The Associate Director will provide overall administrative management and coordination of operational, management, and program support for the Office to include budget and financial matters, personnel, grant development, communications and publicity, and administrative project support.
Requirements: Masters Degree and at least 2 years experience in higher education or demonstrated experience working with students, faculty, and community partners; ability to independently execute advanced functions using computer software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Expression Engine; experience with website maintenance; experience with pre- and post-award research grant administration including proposal writing, grant submission, and related aspects of budget management; and reasonable knowledge of University organizational structure, policies, procedures, and practices; and working familiarity with and appreciation of the diverse cultures of the schools, colleges, and units of the University.
