Assistant Director of Service Learning

College of Coastal Georgia - Brunswick, GA

The College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) seeks an innovative, dynamic professional for the position of Assistant Director of Service-Learning. The Assistant Director will help develop, implement, and coordinate service-learning initiatives designed to promote community-based teaching and learning for students and faculty. Responsibilities include providing administrative support for academic service-learning and integrating community service opportunities with the academic mission of CCGA; facilitating faculty development workshops; seeking external funding to support creative endeavors; developing student leadership in service-learning initiatives; coordinating risk management and evaluation activities related to service-learning; and furthering the institutionalization of processes and infrastructure for service-learning at CCGA.

Qualifications: Master’s degree required. Three years of experience required in higher education, higher education administration, community-based learning, community agency administration, student leadership development, or related field. Knowledge and experience required of service-learning. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with community agencies, students, and faculty. Respect for and ability to work with diverse populations. Proven oral, written, and project management skills. Ability to choose priorities among competing demands. Basic proficiency with desktop computing and use of the Web for information gathering and program administration are essential.

Application: Salary commensurate with experience. Expected start on or before July 2, 2012. The Assistant Director will work ¾ time (30 hours/week) in FY 2013 and move to a full-time appointment (40 hours/week) in FY 2014.
