The University College of Western Kentucky University and the Institute for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (ICSR) seek to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise and experience in community-based learning, research and public scholarship; disciplinary background is open. He/she will spearhead the continued growth of community-based learning and scholarship at WKU, by (1) offering community-based courses that engage students of all backgrounds and disciplines, (2) working with faculty and staff across the university to develop and implement curricular and co-curricular service-learning opportunities linked to the curriculum, and (3) provide expertise and training to faculty, staff and students in conducting community-based learning and public scholarship. To help fulfill these responsibilities, the individual will dedicate a portion of his/her time to working with the ICSR to advance WKU’s public scholarship agenda.
