Assistant to the Director of Engaged Learning – Southern Methodist University

Southern Methodist University (SMU) - Dallas, TX

The Assistant to the Director of Engaged Learning will provide office oversight and some program administration for the Engaged Learning initiative, and including assisting the director with communication, e-marketing, event planning, engaged learning development and assessment.

A Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.

A minimum three years of administrative work experience is required. Experience in program administration is essential, preferably in higher education.

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. A strong customer service orientation is essential.

Candidate must demonstrate the strong writing skills with the ability to produce error-free communication and other materials. Must also possess strong editing and proofreading skills. A strong focus on attention to detail is essential.

Candidate must demonstrate a strong proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of Filemaker, MS Access and mail merges is essential.

Familiarity with website management and web searches is a plus. Experience in creating e-marketing materials and using contact management tools is strongly preferred. Knowledge of and experience with social media and website advocacy is highly desirable.
