Campus Corps Program Manager

Montana Campus Compact - Missoula, MT

The Campus Corps Program Manager is responsible for the administration of a Montana-wide AmeriCorps student volunteer program, including:
•Managing a multi-phase, robust site development process (including designing and disseminating a Request For Proposals, visiting potential partners, and presenting the program to faculty and staff);
•Regularly providing in-person site visits to grantee campuses and communities;
•Meeting with partners and engaging local MTCC affiliates;
•Managing a transparent grant competition (including recruiting grant readers, scoring applications, negotiating with applicants, etc);
•Training Campus Corps local staff and providing technical assistance;
•Training Campus Corps AmeriCorps members;
•Performance tracking at sites and programmatic compliance;
•Funder reporting;
•And grant proposal writing.

The program manager is responsible for directly supervising the Campus Corps Senior Leader, and indirectly the corps member distributed across the state. The role requires a high degree of initiative and independence, regular travel (up to 25%), standard office hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) and in some cases will require overtime.

•Strong communication skills including written, and verbal, including the ability to address groups of people and community leaders;
•Strong knowledge of higher education structures and systems;
•Strong office skills including proficiency with computers, software, database management, telephones and webinars;
•Ability to train others and passion for offering professional and citizenship development opportunities to corps members;
•Ability to manage a statewide grant competition;
•Ability to work with Montana’s diverse cultures, including tribal, aged, rural and high-poverty communities;
•Knowledge about Montana communities, culture, higher education and nonprofit sectors.
•Abilities to facilitate group work, develop strong partnerships and foster strong, reciprocal campus-community partnerships.
