Sarah Lawrence College, a highly selective, coeducational, liberal arts college located just north of Manhattan seeks a Placement Coordinator to work with the Director to insure quality programming in all aspects of the office.

This is a full time position during the academic year (September through June).

Responsibilities include: Creating volunteer programs with community organizations, assisting faculty in creating placement opportunities for service learning courses, training students in leadership for social change on and off campus, coordinating transportation of students to placements, supervising workshops at the Westchester Correctional Facility, organizing social action trip and providing general administrative support including handling phones, ordering supplies, scheduling and planning meetings, coordinating written materials. Must work some evenings and one full weekend per semester.

Must have experience working with community-based organizations, excellent organization, administrative and interpersonal skills, supervision experience, ability to learn to drive a 15 passenger van in urban areas, ability to lead activities requiring physical work, i.e. at a community garden, experience in higher education a plus.
