Director of Member Services

Colorado Campus Compact - Denver, CO

Job Summary:
The Director of Member Services will work closely with the Executive Director/CFO to strategically align member campus needs with CCC programs and services.  The Director of Member Services will conduct ongoing needs assessments of member campuses to best meet individual campus needs, create links between campuses with similar areas of interest and work with the CCC Executive Director/CFO to pursue relevant funding opportunities.  In addition, the Director of Member Services will work with campuses to create sustainability plans for ongoing programs and services through diverse funding avenues.  The Director of Member Services will oversee communication efforts to ensure that all member campuses and external stakeholders are aware of CCC opportunities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential-

Program Development and Sustainability

  1. Promote the mission of CCC through education, recognition and support of member institutions.
  2. Administer membership recruitment and retention plans, including: Leading CCC strategic planning; cultivating an Advisory Committee and convening one to two times annually; coordinating the development and implementation of all programs and services; and ensuring implementation of all training and recognition events.
  3. Align member campus needs with current and potential programs and services.
  4. Identify and expand stakeholders on member campuses participating in CCC programs and services.
  5. Research and identify funding opportunities for strategic programming/services growth.
  6. Ensure implementation of core CCC programs and services.
  7. Create sustainability plans for ongoing programs and services.
  8. Supervise the Member Services Coordinator.

Communications

  1. Serve as a liaison and representative for CCC at local, state and national levels.
  2. Create content for all CCC communications and member mailings.
  3. Ensure distribution of education materials to all relevant stakeholders.
  4. Coordinate legislative and other stakeholder site visits to CCC programs.
  5. Cultivate and maintain relationships with relevant community-based organizations and government agencies.

Other duties as assigned (5%)

Decision Making (Level of difficulty or intensity of the mental process):
The Director of Member Services serves as the primary contact between member campuses and CCC in regards to programming and services.  Knowledge of and familiarity with grants and other funding opportunities, program models within service learning and civic engagement fields and strategic program development are critical.  Decision making is predominantly non routine and situation specific with some routine decisions included.

Scope of Authority (Amount of freedom to establish methods to complete assignments):
The Director of Member Services will be required to work and solve complex issues independently and to establish relevant protocols and procedures necessary for organizational success.  The Director of Member Services needs to be self reliant to complete assignments and be able to focus on both long-term planning and daily management simultaneously.

Communication (Interpersonal level of communication):
This position requires strong communication skills appropriate for diverse audiences.  The Director of Member Services will be working with the CCC Executive Director/CFO and staff, federal and state funders, regional member campus partners, legislators and alumni.  Tasks include gathering critical campus information for program development, aligning programs and services and articulating the impact of programs and services to external audiences.  Such tasks require resourceful and persuasive communication skills.  Attention to accuracy and detail is essential.

Results of Actions (Impact of results on the department/Regis):
The Director of Member Services will, in great part, determine the effectiveness and success of Colorado Campus Compact.  Campus membership is highly dependent on the programs and services that CCC can provide, and this position will be directly responsible for ensuring that campuses are receiving the maximum benefit from their CCC membership.

Minimum Requirements (Necessary for essential duties):
Experience (Specific, observable and linked to essential duties)-

  • Masters degree required
  • Program development and management experience
  • Staff supervision experience required
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to write and to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience with service learning and civic engagement initiatives, within higher education or as a community partner
  • Ability to work as part of a team to accomplish goals

Skills (Psychomotor activities needed to perform tasks)-

  • Computer typing
  • Answering a phone
  • Opening mail and packages

Knowledge (Body of and level of information necessary to perform duty)-

  • Regis University and Campus Compact fiscal reporting systems.

Abilities (Application of knowledge needed to perform tasks)-

  • Knowledge of funding and program resources relevant to CCC member campus needs


Physical and Mental (Frequency, duration, easy to hard, essential to helpful)-

  • Lifting and Carrying: Lift and carry boxes of member handouts and event-specific materials occasionally
  • Pushing and Pulling: N/A
  • Body Positions: Sitting upright at a computer, answering phones, and opening mail daily
  • Body Movements: ability to drive and/or travel by plane to sites, meetings, conferences.
  • Hand Use: Typing on a computer, answering phones, and opening mail daily
  • Sense of Touch: N/A
  • Hearing: Ability to comprehend phone conversations and to participate in group and individual face-to-face meetings daily
  • Vision: Ability to drive to participating sites annually, read email and mail daily, interact online with information systems daily, and to create and edit federal reports and marketing materials monthly
  • Mental:
  1. Mathematics-Budgeting for program planning and grant submission
  2. Remembering-Ability to follow through on multiple tasks with little supervision daily
  3. Language Ability-Ability to communicate with stakeholders on CCC member campuses and with program staff
  4. Reasoning-Confidence and ability to make judgment calls and the ability to comprehend and synthesize multiple messages from multiple audiences daily


Working Conditions (Physical environment):

Shared office space at the Berkeley Lofts supported by Regis University, Lowell Campus.

Other Requirements:

Applicants must be available to travel to sites throughout Colorado annually.
