Job Description:

The department of Student Affairs is seeking a Director of Service Learning and Civic Engagement to provide leadership and administration of the Service Learning and Civic Engagement programs. The Director manages service learning partnerships with the Worcester, MA and Manchester, NH campuses: manages matching students with service-learning sites; arranges orientation sessions for students at the service-learning sites; assists students in contacting the sites, completing Service-Learning Agreement forms, and completing other additional required documents such as background check requests; assists students with any concerns arising from their community service work; maintains contact with the service-learning sites during the semester, and distributes and collects evaluation forms from all sites at the end of the semester; develops new service-learning partnerships in Worcester and Manchester: identifies and contacts potential new service-learning sites for the college’s Service-Learning courses as needed; develops work descriptions and responsibilities for students at the service-learning sites; designs new service-learning courses; develops a training manual and provides training for service-learning course coordinators; teaches service- learning classes; works with Student Affairs staff and student leaders to organize and coordinate community outreach activities and develops learning outcomes for reflection and learning purposes. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

Required: A master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel, counseling, or a related discipline and a minimum of three years of experience in service- learning and / or civic engagement program administration; excellent written and verbal communication skills; public relations, and customer service experience; excellent problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills; proficiency using MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and database management: a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cooperative team environment; ability to appropriately manage sensitive and confidential information.
