2012-2013 VISTA Leader
Now hiring! The Iowa Campus Compact VISTA Leader is responsible for communication and capacity-building functions of the IACC VISTA program including: reporting, planning events and trainings (in-person and through technology), recruiting members, problem-solving, connecting VISTAs to resources and best practices, and other duties to enhance the success of our VISTA members. This year’s VISTA leader will also take charge of developing IACC’s direct role in student engagement by planning a student leadership conference, building a student advisory role and other initiatives to raise awareness amongst college students. The VISTA Leader will assist with other IACC programming and events, and strengthen IACC programming through social media outreach and communications.
An ideal VISTA Leader is organized, innovative, patient, takes initiative, skilled at problem-solving, and familiar with computers and office software. Applicants MUST have one year of experience of VISTA prior to starting the position and ideally a background in communications, event planning and/or higher education student affairs.

The VISTA Leader has office space in downtown Des Moines, a living allowance of $13,104 for the year, housing provided including utilities and cable, and a choice of $5,550 education award or $3,000 cash stipend. The VISTA Leader will be selected by mid-May and start July 1, 2012.
