North Carolina Campus Compact seeks applicants for an AmeriCorps*VISTA Leader position. All applicants must have ONE YEAR PREVIOUS VISTA EXPERIENCE. The VISTA Leader will work with the NC Campus Compact Program Coordinator to manage all aspects of the Compact’s AmeriCorps*VISTA program and provide leadership for a 20-member VISTA cohort. Compact VISTAs work in communities throughout North Carolina and Virginia to fight poverty by leveraging higher education resources.

The VISTA Leader’s primary goal is to build a connected and effective VISTA cohort using online training and communication tools. Key responsibilities include: coordinating member recruitment and reporting, assisting in creation of member training modules, enhancing member communication tools and social media interaction, advising VISTAs developing projects to address local K-12 education needs, leading a VISTA Summer Associates program, integrating VISTAs as participants and facilitators in Compact conferences and events, and promoting AmeriCorps programs on member campuses.

The VISTA Leader position is full-time and is hosted at NC Campus Compact’s office on Elon University. VISTAs cannot hold outside employment during the term of service. VISTA Leaders may serve for up to two years.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required, 1 year of previous VISTA service required, U.S. Citizen or permanent legal resident status, background in K-12 education and/or non-profits preferred
