Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in social science, public administration, education, marketing or related field and at least two years of relevant experience. Experience may include a combination of employment, internship and/or significant community service in a community-based learning environment, higher education, or a non-profit setting. Experience working with college/university staff, students and community partners. Customer service experience. Ability to establish effective partnerships in a wide range of environments among collegiate faculty, staff, students, K-12 school districts and community organizations. Ability to prepare and monitor budget information. Experience coordinating and organizing meetings and/or special events. Ability to work collaboratively in team-centered environment as well as independently. Excellent oral, written, networking, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Experience working with statewide or multifaceted initiatives. A proven track record that demonstrates a high degree of self-directed capability, integrity and responsibility in the conduct of duties. Proof of a valid driver’s license or ability to obtain.

Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

Preferred
Experience coordinating/administering an AmeriCorps program or grant. A proactive, independent worker who is not only self-directed but one who also takes the initiative to offer creative ideas, solutions and problem solving for the benefit of the entire organization. Previous work experience includes working with an AmeriCorps program and/or Campus Compact, or previous state or federal grant management experience. Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation. Knowledge of grant and sub-grant contract administration. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use information in support of FL|CC’s mission. Knowledge of federal, state, and private sources for contract and grant funds. Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University, CNCS, and Volunteer Florida policies, procedures, principles, and practices for grant funded programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, internet research, and social networking media is a plus.

Other Information
This position is offered through a program at FSU called Florida Campus Compact (FL|CC). FL|CC is a membership organization of over 50 college and university presidents committed to helping students develop the values and skills of active citizenship through participation in public and community service. FL|CC works with these presidents and their campuses to integrate service with academic study and to provide a collegial experience for intercampus and community collaborations. The FL|CC office is located off-campus at 1801 Miccosukee Commons Drive, Suite 200, in Tallahassee, Florida. FL|CC is a state-wide entity, affiliated with a national organization. Travel and overtime will be required during conferences and events or to meet project deadlines.

Contracts and Grants
The position is funded by contract and grant monies.

Time Limited
Anticipated start date for candidate filling position is 1/9/12. This position is funded through 8/31/2012 and may be extended, subject to continued funding.

Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating AmeriCorps member management along with contract, budget, compliance monitoring, and evaluation activities for the FL|CC College Access AmeriCorps Program. This program engaged nearly 150 students, faculty, and staff at several Florida colleges and universities along with K-12 school districts and community partners. The Program Coordinator assesses and coordinates administrative, programming and operational activities for the College Access Corps. Coordinates events and activities at participating colleges and universities across Florida. Implements associated policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Reports project results and makes program improvement recommendations to FL|CC, Volunteer Florida, and the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS), FSU, and other stakeholders. Monitors program budgets and maintains records of all expenditures and deliverables to ensure compliance with CNCS/Volunteer Florida grants. Works with business offices to ensure deliverables are fulfilled, finalizes subcontracts and maintains accurate budgetary recordkeeping. Coordinates and helps author annual grant renewal with Volunteer Florida. Oversees the request for proposal (RFP) and review process to recruit and select new sub-grantee locations. Creates and facilitates new grantee orientations and meetings. Assesses and ensures subcontracts are compliant with CNCS and Volunteer Florida grants. Develops content related to current news and events for the program and coordinates publishing to program website. Trains participating sub-grantee locations on student AmeriCorps member recruitment, placement and management in the CNCS e-grants system. Develops associated handbooks, tools and other resources. Provides supervision for an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer at the FL|CC office and student intern as needed.

Pay Plan
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Salary Range
Anticipate hiring in the mid to upper $20s
