Summary

Coordinates all aspects of the ENGAGE at CCA program, including, but not limited to, assistance with course/curriculum development, faculty and partner relations, documentation, event planning, and evaluation.

ENGAGE at CCA is an innovative project-based learning initiative, combining the Community Arts Program’s successful model of community engagement with the project-based learning approach of the architecture and design disciplines. Activated across the academic programs, ENGAGE at CCA serves as a hub to connect interested faculty and students to community partners and relevant outside experts. ENGAGE at CCA dynamically advances CCA’s mission to prepare its students for lifelong creative work and service to their communities through a curriculum in fine art, architecture, design, and creative writing.

Responsibilities

• Implement processes, procedures, and marketing for the ENGAGE at CCA program.
• Assist Director with researching and identifying CCA faculty and community partner sites to participate in the program.
• Assist Director with researching and identifying course projects applicable to the program goals.
• Collect and maintain faculty, partner, and project data. Work with the Center Operations Assistant to transfer applicable data into the Center database.
• Manage the approval process for designating classes as official ENGAGE at CCA courses, including the approval of the Center Director, program chairs, and the CCA Provost.
• Assist CCA faculty with course development and curriculum to include the ENGAGE at CCA principles.
• Prior to the start of each course, coordinate with the Center Operations Manager to complete the course MOUs.
• Collaborate with the Center Design and Marketing Manager to set documentation requirements and marketing guidelines to be communicated in writing to CCA faculty and partner sites prior to the start of each course.
• Assist CCA faculty with the preparation and dissemination of student ownership rights to be given to students at the beginning of each course – includes familiarity with CCA’s Intellectual Property Tenets.
• Monitor each course’s progress throughout the semester by consulting with CCA faculty and community partner sites, as well as completing site visits at least twice per semester.
• Report program/course progress and/or issues to Director regularly.
• Evaluate the program and each individual course, based on data from CCA faculty, students, and partner sites, using tools such as online surveys. Maintain the evaluation data for program reporting and assessment.
• Assist CCA faculty/community partner sites with final presentation events or exhibits. Coordinate any public presentations of program or course materials, including CCA Board presentations and Center Community Arts Gallery exhibits. Represent CCA at events.
• Coordinate any special grant projects related to the ENGAGE at CCA program.
• Participate in Center staff meetings and events.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in arts administration and/or nonprofit program development and management. Substantial experience in project management, meeting and activity coordination. Understanding of academic and non-profit culture and operating practices. Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including data collection/maintenance and program evaluation, with strict attention to detail and thorough completion of work are required. Ability to collaborate and work in team environments with diverse individuals and partners, as well as ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to problem solve, take initiative, be pro-active, and work efficiently and effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and priorities, often with interruptions. Must have excellent written, verbal, reading, and phone skills with a demonstrated ability to work and communicate with staff, students, faculty, community members, and all levels of administration. Demonstrated ability to communicate with professionals, faculty, and students in the areas of fine arts, design, architecture, and writing. Understanding of traditional and contemporary practices and knowledge of how to make interdisciplinary links with the humanities and sciences. Understanding and interest in diversity, social and environmental justice. Graduate degree preferred.

Must have ability to sit at a desk for 80% of the work day, and to type for at least 50% of the work day. Proficiency in MS Office Suite for Mac, File Maker Pro, and Internet applications is preferred. Evening and weekend hours as needed. Travel as needed.

Salary

$40-45,000 / annually, commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
