Program Manager, Simon Fraser University, Public Square Centre for Dialogue

POSITION OUTLINE:
Provides administrative support for the SFU Public Square by collaborating with the Executive Director in the development of strategic initiatives. Identifies strategic opportunities in the community and the university for SFU Public Square activities; organizes, delivers, and reports on project initiatives; conducts research on event themes; assists in the negotiation of partnerships and sponsorships; conducts presentations for internal and external partners; recruits, orients, and supervises temporary staff, student internships and work-study placements; participates in promotional and outreach activities, participates in the development and implementation of the communications and marketing plans; manages the design and development of the project web site; assists in the preparation of grant proposals; liaises with administrative and academic personnel, community members, external organizations, government and agency personnel and prepares written summaries by researching, compiling, documenting and reporting information.
Please note: This position is located at Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Undergraduate degree and five years of directly related experience which includes experience in program research, development, and administration; communications and marketing ; event presentation; budget management; human resource management; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
• Excellent research, analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to produce reports with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Excellent negotiating skills.
• Good media, communications, and marketing skills with the ability to develop written, graphical, pictorial and video information for online and printed communications.
• Ability to use word processing, database, spreadsheet and web and graphic applications at an intermediate level.
• Ability to conduct and present public information sessions for the community as well as internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent supervisory skills.
• Excellent budget management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

SALARY RANGE: $2253.87 – $2691.45 bi-weekly
START DATE: January 9, 2012
POSITION END DATE: January 8, 2013
