The St. Thomas University Center for Justice and Peace is hiring a full time Program Manager to support its efforts to leverage university research and teaching resources into local, regional, and international social development projects. The focus of the Program Manager’s work will be supporting curriculum-tied community-based education projects of the university. The majority of these programs will take place in the context of long-term solar energy initiatives and fair-trade artisan projects in Haiti, but will also include local community-organizing efforts and other related initiatives. The Program Manager will be a staff member in the School of Theology and Ministry. Applicants should be familiar with Catholic Social Thought, have experience in community-based learning and/or community organizing, and be excited by the intersection of university learning and the social issues of our region. This is a year-to-year grant funded position, with anticipated funding through 2012.
