Program Specialist-Montana Campus Compact

Montana Campus Compact - Missoula, MT

Montana Campus Compact (MTCC), a non-profit organization committed to renewing the public purposes of higher education through community service, service-learning, volunteerism and civic engagement available to students, faculty and staff.  MTCC currently comprises 19 of Montana’s colleges and universities, as well as a state network office located on the University of Montana Campus.

This position is responsible for managing, training and supporting partnering campuses and AmeriCorps members.  Position works closely with Operations Manager to provide direct oversight and program compliance as it relates to funder guidelines.  The program specialist provides administrative oversight to campuses and is part of the management team that ensures participants are effective and successful in their service across Montana and that AmeriCorps funding continues to be available to Montana’s higher education institutions.  The position requires a high degree of initiative and independence.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and files
  • Ability to communicate complex information to diverse groups
  • Ability to develop and present to both small and large grounds
  • Ability to plan and schedule events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer-service skills
  • Strong time-management skills

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in business, communication or related field or at least 3 years equivalent working experience required.  Must be able to type at least 50 wpm.  10%-15% travel is required.  Must be able to be a team player and able to manage multiple deadlines.  Working knowledge and experience with higher education, AmeriCorps and Campus Compact movements preferred.
