Service-Learning Coordinator – Normandale Community College
MnSCU Academic Professional 1 (Unclassified MAPE, 1 year temp position with possibility of renewal)
Responsibilities:

• Work with students, staff and faculty of Normandale as well as community partners to further a comprehensive service-learning program
• Assist with classroom presentations, faculty development, and student recruitment for service-learning.
• Manage, research and initialize work with community partners
• Serve as a resource for students and monitor their progress and hours
• Possess a clear understanding of Volgistics database for management, updates, reports and evaluation.
• Coordinate and assist with special projects (programs, events, recognition, hats for the homeless, etc)
• Report to and assist the Director of Service-Learning in maintaining positive communication, reporting and networking for all service-learning programs.
• Coordinate the updating, distribution, collection, tallying and assessment of semester evaluations for students, faculty and community partners.
• Assist in making all opportunities for the Center for Service-Learning available to all in the campus and community through strong marketing.
• Other projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in related field
• Service-learning/volunteer experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of data base and word processing programs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities
• Demonstrated experience with program development
• Ability to work independently as well as the ability to work effectively with a team-oriented staff
• Previous service-learning experience and knowledge of campus service-learning programs.
• Masters Degree
