FUNCTIONAL TITLE: Service-Learning Coordinator
STATE TITLE: Professional Services Specialist 3
DEPARTMENT: Division of Academic Affairs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Master’s degree required
•Minimum two years of service-learning or community-based experience
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn use of volunteer management database (Volgistics)
•Experience working closely with students and faculty in higher education setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Experience in program planning & assessment and/or grant research & writing

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Service-Learning Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for student, faculty, staff, and community partner program constituents; conducts ongoing outreach and community partner support; develops and facilitates trainings and reflection activities for a variety of audiences; develops and markets all publications, resources, programs, and databases that support the growth of service-learning opportunities; and contributes to the institution through participation in ad hoc and permanent committees, Day of Service planning teams, and other activities as requested.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
•Conducts ongoing outreach to and cultivation of relationships with community-based organizations, including annual needs assessments and site visits
•Plans mutually beneficial S-L experiences with community partners and faculty
•Recruits and supports faculty in course/syllabus development and design and implementation of reflection activities
•Recruits and supports S-L students by developing and facilitating training, assessing interests and skills, and recommending appropriate sites
•Utilizes web-based volunteer management system efficiently to track data
•Writes and prepares all training materials, website, on- and off-campus public relations materials, and annual reports
•Maintains relationship with state and regional membership organizations
•Maintains records, reports, and documentation of activities and outcomes
•Initiates and special projects based on community need; locates and solicits external funding to support those projects
•Monitors budget; supervises part-time program assistant; participates in ad hoc and permanent committee meetings as required
