The VISTA Program Manager is responsible for the administration of a 30+ site, Montana-wide AmeriCorps*VISTA anti-poverty program. In that capacity, the role is responsible for managing a multi-phase, robust site development process (including designing and disseminating a Request For Proposals, regularly visiting communities in-person and meeting with potential partners and engaging local MTCC affiliates as partners); managing a transparent grant competition (including recruiting grant readers, scoring applications, negotiating with applicants, etc); VISTA site supervisor training and technical assistance; VISTA member skill and citizenship training; VISTA site performance tracking and programmatic compliance; and proposal writing.
The VISTA Program Manager is responsible for directly supervising the MTCC VISTA leader, and indirectly responsible for the corps of 30+ VISTA disburse across Montana. The role functions as part of a management team, which operates with a large degree of independence and decision making authority with regard to recruitment, performance and relationship matters. VISTA member pay (technically “living allowance”) is set by the funder, and therefore is non-negotiable.
