The Akshaya Patra Foundation
Akshaya Patra is the world’s largest NGO-run midday meal program and feeds over 1.3 million children daily in India. A public-private partnership we combine good management, innovative technology and smart engineering to deliver school lunch at a fraction of the cost of similar programs in other parts of the world. It costs just $15 to feed a child daily for the entire year. This gives the children an incentive to come to school, stay in school and provides them with the necessary nutrients they need to develop their cognitive abilities to focus on learning.

The Akshaya Patra Foundation knows that youth have historically been at the forefront of innovative social movements that have changed the world. Akshaya Patra offers a solution to hunger, now is the time to catalyze a movement to end it, and we need your to help. We are currently recruiting Chapter Chairs to organize and lead Akshaya Patra youth chapters in their schools and communities. Join a growing network of youth and students around the nation who are working to eradicate hunger and promote education for deserving children in India.
Key Responsibilities:
– Mobilize students and young professionals in your community in support of eradicating hunger and promoting education.
– Manage and implement fundraising campaigns and awareness building events.
– Serve as The Akshaya Patra foundations ambassador in your city.
Opportunities:
– Akshaya Patra Chapter Chairs will have the opportunity to utilize their background and come up with new ideas for furthering the cause.
– Change the lives of a generation of young people in India
– Build leadership skills, receive support and training, network with community and non-profit leaders
