Open, authentic dialogue about difficult topics is an important characteristic of a vibrant intellectual community, but there is much concern today that authentic conversations about cultural differences and religious pluralism are increasingly rare on college campuses. The 2008 Institute will examine strategies for creating more authentic campus conversations about the many cultural and religious differences that are represented in colleges and universities and explore ways to find common values in a time of polarizing differences.

We invite scholars and practitioners to submit session proposals regarding this theme and related topics to complement the keynote speakers who will address this topic. Deadline for proposals is October 19, 2007.
