VISTA Training Modules

Campus Compact AmeriCorps* VISTA Training Modules

One of the most powerful qualities of the Campus Compact VISTA program is the esprit de corps fostered through workshops and trainings with corps members. Through ongoing community building within the corps, VISTA members learn community-building techniques to bring back to their campus and community. Additionally, VISTAs gain a greater understanding their own talents, skills, and leadership style through workshops and reflection.

Below are a series of trainings from Campus Compact AmeriCorps* VISTA programs. The format of these training modules is based on the Bonner Civic Engagement Training Modules. EnCorps Training Modules are also useful as stand-alone half-day training sessions or as part of a multi-day leadership training for members.

Please submit your own training modules by downloading this Word template Microsoft Word Document 196KB and emailing formatted workshops and supplementary handouts to Campus Compact. The more input we have from every program, the stronger and more comprehensive this resource will be.

Thanks to Campus Compact for all that you have done over the years to nurture the campus service and service-learning movement. When we started at St. A's 15 years ago there was a feeling among some campuses that we were seeing higher education's latest 'flash in the pan.' Instead it was the beginning of a revolution of ideas and relationships, and you guys have been fueling us all the way."
