Andalisa Lopez, a junior at Muhlenberg College, engages deeply with youth in Allentown communities through her work with Community Bike Works, an organization that seeks to provide kids with an alternative to gangs and drugs while teaching valuable lessons regarding personal responsibility. She has greatly impacted this organization through teaching classes, planning lessons, working full-time during the summer months and acquiring resources for the program including a $158,000 co-authored grant. Ms. Lopez also addresses issues related to international social justice through advocacy and education related to fair-trade, food distribution and conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
