Alikiah Barclay, Duke University, North Carolina

Alikiah Barclay, a second year student at Duke University, is a student leader active in issues of education and sustainability. For the past two years he has worked with the America Reads and America Counts program, a national initiative, serving as a tutor and currently as a head tutor.  With Clean Energy of Durham, a local non-profit, Alikiah has worked on sustainability issues in the community and on Duke’s campus. He is also involved in a selective living group called Ubuntu which houses students interested in social change.

Campus Compact's workshops have been extremely valuable. Faculty often become energized by the workshop content and bring that enthusiasm back to campus."
