Amir Jackson, a junior at Weber State University, began a project 3 years ago that became in his words “My life’s purpose.” Nurture the Creative Mind has now maturated into a successful 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has worked with over 500 youth in multiple organizations such as juvenile facilities, womens’ shelters, and treatment centers. The mission of Nurture the Creative Mind is to use artistic expression to learn, understand, grow, empower, and unite. Through Nurture the Creative Mind, Amir recently published a book titled “Yes, I am STILL here.” The book is authored by young girls who are survivors of abuse.
