Austin Hula, a sophomore at the University of Central Oklahoma, actively seeks to help persons with mental and physical disabilities in order to improve their livelihoods. For the past four years, Austin has been involved with “Make Promises Happen,” a camp devoted to developing and encouraging individuals of all ages with special needs. Austin invites his fellow students to share his love for this population by bringing in his peers as new counselors to work with the campers, and is a valued leader among the college-age volunteers.
