Cam Nguyen, a sophomore at Gettysburg College, is actively involved with the Center for Public Service, addressing the meaning of service and the root causes of social issues. As a program coordinator, she recruits college volunteers and facilitates their experiences to meet the needs of IMPRINT, an after-school program. She also engages in racial and gender justice dialogues to gain greater understanding of social issues and create strategies for change. As a Heston summer intern, she will connect new college students with the greater Gettysburg community and emphasize their responsibility to act against social injustices and create social change.

Thanks to Campus Compact for all that you have done over the years to nurture the campus service and service-learning movement. When we started at St. A's 15 years ago there was a feeling among some campuses that we were seeing higher education's latest 'flash in the pan.' Instead it was the beginning of a revolution of ideas and relationships, and you guys have been fueling us all the way.
