Danielle Mullins, West Virginia Wesleyan College, WV

Danielle Mullins, a junior at West Virginia Wesleyan College, is a student leader active in social justice issues. For the past three years, she has been instrumental in bringing the Ten Thousand Villages sale to campus, selling over $25,000 in fair trade goods and educating her peers about fair trade.  She also played a major role in the development of a local arts co-operative, directly applying her knowledge of community building and project management gained as a Bonner Scholar. As a WE LEAD Coordinator, her vision has inspired her peers in this new group dedicated to service and societal issues.

I have always had a drive to serve others and work for the common good. But I never fully realized that I could go beyond volunteerism--that my opinion and hard work could influence policy decisions. My views changed when I sat in the office of one of my legislators in Washington, DC."

-Amanda Coffin, University of Maine at Farmington, Campus Compact student leader
