Jordan Wente, a graduating sophomore at Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC), advocates for human rights through social entrepreneurism. As a teaching assistant, tutor, project leader, and founding student member of RCTC’s Cambodia Service Learning Trip, his work has helped create a “Fairly Traded” small business in his community where students purchase items from partner NGOs in Cambodia and sell items locally to raise money and social consciousness. The profits are used to purchase sewing machines for the women sewing the products sold. He has also helped raise over $30,000 to build toilets and wells in Cambodia for rural schools.
