HAUniv is recognizing Miriam for her service to the Student Council, psychology department, and organizing funding from student events for the Smile of the Child (‘Hamogelo tou Paidiou’) Organization, an NGO here in Greece serving the needs of children in transition and missing children, and their families.  Miriam was one of the students that represented the university at a conference in Kefallonia on sustainable community development based on research results from one of her classes. She also avidly volunteers for her own church group and in particular working with younger children.
